Component Design Engineer (Responsible Engineer) - Volume Manufacture

Location : Warrington

Duration : Staff (contract also available)

The Project:
Working in the nuclear sector, this project is centred around component design activities across the full lifecycle of design, from requirements to stable volume manufacture

The Role:
As the Component Designer you will lead Volume Manufactured Product Designs in support of continuous improvement activities / non-conformance reduction within volume manufacturing environments.
You will utilise your knowledge and demonstrated application of Generic Design processes / NPI gated reviews. You'll be resp9nsible for requirements capture and interpretation as well as conceptual and detail design experience leading to integrated design solutions.
You'll be dealing with Interface Management and control and you'll be working as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) member / leading an IPT
You will be a Geometric Tolerancing practitioner (GPS / BS8888) and have capability in structured Problem Solving and Continuous improvement experience (8D, 7S, 3C etc.)
In addition you will deal with non-conformance Root Cause analysis (RCA) and resolution

Your background:

You will be a graduate (minimum BEng, preferred MEng) or equivalent in relevant discipline and have experience in the following design tools:

- DfX (Manufacture, assembly, Cost etc.), Lean and Zero Defects
- CAD proficiency (Inventor / Creo preferred)
- Robust Design techniques experience
- Systems Engineering appreciation

Ideally you'll also have:

- PPAP / APQP awareness
- Commercially savvy
- Continuous improvement basics
- V&V


Security clearance:
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
