AWE is currently recruiting for a High-Speed Video Technician to support the Trials and Test Technology Centre. This is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to gain experience in the fielding of high-speed video techniques.

Location - Reading area

Package - £21,150 - £28,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

What will you be required to do?

The core responsibility will be to field and operate high speed video equipment in support of engineering and scientific experiments and trials across many programme areas. The role will involve advising senior scientists and engineers on high speed video techniques and equipment, to ensure that optimal performance is gained from high speed video allowing trial data to be assessed.

As a member of the ETDU Explosive Trials (Offsite), you will be required to work within the diagnostic and fielding team to support and develop trials at a number of off-site range locations.

Additional duties will include:

  • Stills photography

  • Post-trial video and stills processing

  • Support diagnostic and fielding team during trials

  • Contribute to the production and delivery of high-quality technical documentation, including test plans, reports and procedures

  • Support the Senior Engineers and Task Management in scoping, planning, and estimating future activities

What will you need to be considered?

  • Good working technical knowledge and practical ability

  • Have knowledge of photographic techniques

  • Be willing to deploy to offsite range locations within the UK to support trials

  • Ability to make a positive contribution to the ETDU Explosive Trials (Offsite) team and support all aspects of trials delivery

  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer facing skills with both internal and external stakeholders

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
