Job Description

AWE is currently recruiting for a Production Delivery Senior Manager to coordinate and prioritise all Technology Centre resources, across shifts and geographical locations, on an hourly/daily basis, to ensure continued safe and effective delivery of the overall Technology Centre plan.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for prioritised allocation of resources across shifts and locations including daily engagement with other functions to ensure appropriate overall prioritisation in line with programme delivery requirements
  • Leadership of a diverse and multidisciplinary team to deliver all task outputs included in the single order book to schedule
  • Ensure consistent management of performance, development, reward, career progression and succession planning across their area of responsibility
  • Accountable for ensuring pan Technology Centre production operations are controlled, and adequate resources allocated, in compliance with Safety Case requirements
  • Accountable for short term tactical planning and coordination of Production Operations, Asset Operations, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and ESH
  • Promote and sponsor operational excellence and drive all actions aimed at continuous process improvement
  • Adopt a 'See It, Own It, Solve It' mind-set, by identifying obstacles to success and taking ownership to find solutions to those problems

Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system. The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties as aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs; this may include additional roles as set out below (these are subject to your area of work, and where formally agreed by the individual): e.g. First Aider; Ballistic First Aider; RA First Aider; Zone Control Officer; Assistant Zone Control Officer; Facility Liaison Officer / Facility Emergency Controller; Emergency Manager.

Candidates will be expected to have:

  • Evidence of proven experience in leadership and Production Operations
  • An ability to demonstrate understanding of ESH management and Facility Safety Case
  • Previous experience in strategic and tactical planning
  • Knowledge of safety management systems
  • Working knowledge of H&S legislation
  • A proven track record of driving delivery, performance and continuous improvement
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas to local working patterns.
