Job Description

AWE is currently recruiting for a Production Planner Manager to Production Planning services, encompassing Manufacturing and Science demand across Operational Delivery Units.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke area

Package - £42,250 - £60,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

The Role:

Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that customer requirements are planned and released to Manufacturing and Operational activities within the timescales required
  • Overseeing the Balancing of demand and supply across the Production Planning Team by coordinating demand reviews and de-conflicting demand and capability
  • Manage a long-range plan to enable comprehensive and realistic forecasting to meet all programme demand
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of production planners
  • To objectively identify and analyse the impact of risks, changes and opportunities that can affect the delivery schedule, escalate risks and issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure performance metrics, procedures, processes and systems are developed, implemented and of a quality that delivers against our Programme requirements
  • Support individual performance and succession planning including internal/external recruitment
  • Demonstrate behaviours and values that contribute to a high performing team
  • Promote and sponsor Operational Excellence and drive all actions aimed at continuous process improvement

We'd love to hear from individuals who possess a relevant Manufacturing or Planning professional qualification.

You will need strong inter-personal skills to drive sustained and high performance, in successful delivery of the programme, with ability to influence others.

It would be desirable for you to have experience of implementing Lean principles, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and bill of materials.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
