As our reputation for proficient delivery of complex projects grows even stronger, we have a need for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join the team in Cumbria.
Senior Mechanical Designer
The Role:
As the Senior Mechanical Designer you will have Engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including recent positions where examples of design outputs have been; successfully manufactured, installed and commissioned.
Input to Optioneering, FEED studies and Basis of Design
Production of pipework and equipment layouts/ Fabrication Isometrics and steel fabrications detail drawings using AutoCAD.
Production of Detail Drawings of Machine components using AutoCAD
Production of design schedules for pipes, valves and equipment.
Production of CDM documentation i.e. Designer Risk Assessments, Installation Method Statements.
Site surveys and production of survey reports
Input to man-hour estimates and project programmes / progress reports.

Your background:
Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry
Experience using Inventor / AutoCAD is essential
Experience of developing and designing drawings
Design of pipework and pipe supports in accordance with international piping specifications, standards and procedures. (e.g. ASME B31.3)
Experience with designing in accordance with Pressure Equipment and Machinery Directives and Pressure System Safety Regulations
You will need to be able to communicate effectively with team members and with the Client

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
