Senior Mechanical Engineer - Piping/Structural
Location: Sunderland Office with some travel (when permissible)
Duration: Permanent Staff

We require a Senior Mechanical Engineer experienced in leading multi-disciplinary design teams and with experience in design engineering substantiation in a highly regulated industry.
The role requires proven experience in creating a successful technical client relationship and the ability to define budgets/work programmes for complete project lifecycles e.g. requirements capture, concept design, detailed design, manufacture, site installation.
Additionally it requires capability to deliver work in area of expertise and production of high quality design documentation

Your background:
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and ideally be a Chartered engineer with strong leadership skills, with the ability to focus on delivering Quality on time and to budget.
You will be comfortable with on-site assessments and surveys, have some exposure to Project management and Requirements management
You will need to have lifting and handling equipment experience and ideally experience in construction management
Knowledge of current EU regulations e.g. PED, CDM, Machinery Directive is important as welll as specification writing skills
Knowldge of Draughting software - AutoCad, Inventor and MathCad software is required
You will also need to have an appreciation of wider technical issues beyond your own discipline
Security:
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
